Charlie Boothright (b. 2001, Reading) is an artist based in south London. In 2023 she graduated from Camberwell College of Arts with First Class Honours in Fine Art Painting, after completing her Foundation Diploma at Central Saint Martins, 2020. Her distinctive work earned her The Gilchrist Fisher Award in 2022, and has showcased in several exhibitions since including Pusher Gallery and Phillips in 2024, as well as Guts Gallery and Studio West in 2023. She debuted her first solo exhibition at The Blue Shop Gallery in 2023, and more recently her second solo presentation, Sentinels, at General Assembly Gallery in 2025.
Boothright explores psychological residue, often responding to experiences of emotional rupture, vulnerability, and recovery. Exploring the psychological terrain of how trauma is carried in the body, she reflects cycles of damage, endurance, and repair. Through the material process of layering, building, and breaking down the surface, painting becomes a space of confrontation, resilience, and resolution.
